Dare to Dream® Program Mentor Requirements
We're so happy that you're interested in becoming a Dare to Dream® mentor!
Dare to Dream® mentors are matched with a local youth experiencing foster care and commit to showing up at least twice a month to offer mentorship and completion of milestones. While the relationships ideally last a lifetime, the program does include a one-year commitment.

Step 1: Schedule Discovery Call
Schedule a discovery call with our Case Management Team to learn more about the Dare to Dream® program and ensure it's the right fit for you. Please use the Schedule Discovery Call link to access the calendar. If the days and times available do not work for you, please contact Leona at [email protected] directly to find a day and time that is best. A member of our Case Management Team will call you over the phone on the date and time you select.
Step 2: Apply to Mentor
Please complete the Dare to Dream® Mentor Application so our team has the information they need to match you with a compatible youth on our waitlist. Once submitted, you can expect to hear from a member of our Case Management Team within 2–3 business days.
Step 3: Mentor Training
At this stage of the mentor onboarding process, you will be assigned a Case Manager. They are here to match you with a compatible mentee and help you with your volunteer experience. Your Case Manager will schedule your Dare to Dream® Mentor Training. Feel free to preview the Mentor Training Presentation and the Mentor Training Packet prior to your scheduled training session.
Step 4: Dare to Dream® Program Payment
Please submit your one-time Dare to Dream® program payment. This fee covers the cost of one background check for the mentor who will have direct contact with the mentee. Your contribution ensures a safe and impactful start to your journey of supporting a youth through consistent, intentional mentorship.
Step 5: Dare to Dream® Liability & Confidentiality
By completing your program registration with Amarillo Angels, you are providing consent to our Liability & Confidentiality Form. This form helps us protect the privacy of the children, youth, and families we serve.
Step 6: Dare to Dream® Photo Release
By completing your program registration with Amarillo Angels, you are providing consent to our Photo Release. This form allows us to share meaningful stories and moments that highlight the impact of our programs.
